The 14th Biennial Juried Art Exhibition, sponsored by the Fine Arts Board of The Presbyterian Church of LaPorte, opened April 28, 2013, with a reception for the winning artists.
Winning Best in Show was Randy Horst of Goshen with “Job #3,” mixed media. Other winners were: First Place: Linda Freel of South Bend with “Woodland Fantasy II and III,” mixed pastels; Second Place: Connie Kassal of Michigan City with “Spirited Drawing I,” oil and graphite on oil paper; Third Place: Jimmy Duke Johnston of Michigan City with “Plants,” acrylic; Honorable Mention: Fred Holly of Highland with “All Strings Attached,” acrylic; Honorable Mention: Will Moorhead of Michigan City with “Screaming @ God,” chalk; Honorable Mention: Madeleine Schooley of Michigan City with “Paschal,” mixed media. Prize monies totaled $1,325.
The juror for the exhibit was Ann M. Knoll, associate director of the Snite Museum of Art, the University of Notre Dame.
The exhibit is open daily through May 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. Some of the artwork may be available for purchase.
