In what has become a perfect annual tradition to break the curse of Cabin Fever, Tri Kappa of LaPorte will again present its Family Sock Hop on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium. The always-entertaining Dr. Groovy and the Soul Surgeons will once again crank out tunes to make everybody get up and dance.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The evening will include dance and costume contests, prizes, food and more! All guests are asked to bring a new pair of socks to be donated to less fortunate families.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for students ages 6 to 18, and $2 for preschoolers ages 3-5. Kids younger than that enter for free. Advanced table reservations (seats 8) are $20 (does not include tickets). Tickets are available at Fenker’s Furniture and at the door.
All proceeds will be given back to the community in 2014 through Tri Kappa projects and grants.
