Pinhook Church, one of LaPorte County’s most picturesque landmarks, will be the subject of a presentation by Phyllis Marks at the LaPorte County Historical Society’s annual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.
The meeting will take place at the LaPorte County Historical Society Museum, 2405 Indiana Ave., beginning at 7 p.m. The public is invited! The museum is handicapped accessible.
Pinhook Church was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places on Sept. 24, 2009. The church was built in 1847 and is the oldest standing church in LaPorte County. Marks, who was involved in its restoration, will talk about that project and the church’s current status. The church is owned by the Pinhook Cemetery Association.
Historical society members may pay their dues at the meeting. Please watch and listen for any inclement-weather bulletins.
