Feb. 4, 1914 – Fifteen men began remodeling the Teegarden building on Michigan Avenue in LaPorte, to be occupied by the Meyer-Lindorf company by March 1.
Feb. 4, 1964 — Alabama Gov. George Wallace pours 175 state troopers into Macon County, promising to resist the transfer of 12 black students from Tuskegee High to neighboring schools.
Feb. 4, 1989 – A law requiring large companies to give workers 60 days’ notice of plant closings takes effect.
Feb. 4, 2004 – LaPorte Police nab an alleged thief in a string of break-ins.
