The LaPorte Park and Recreation Department will again offer a summer Art Camp for children currently enrolled in grades preschool (ages 4 & 5) through 8.
Art Camp is a two-week program that gives kids a chance to do a variety of art activities. The classes will be held at Cummings Lodge in Soldiers Memorial Park and will meet Monday through Thursday with times varying depending on the grade level. Class is determined on the grade just completed by the child.
Session dates are: 1st session — June 10 to June 20; 2nd session — July 8 to July 18.
Class sizes are limited; preregistration is required. Cost is $28 per child. Register your children at the park office, 250 Pine Lake Ave.
Kiwanis Club donates to Art Camp
The Kiwanis Club of LaPorte recently donated $250 to the LaPorte Park and Recreation Department for the Art Camps for kids. Kiwanis President Bert Sappenfield presented the check to Mark Schreiber, recreation director for the parks. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to serving one child, one community at a time.
