March 1, 1914 — LaPorte’s First National Bank and Masonic Temple Association announce tenants for their new buildings.
March 1, 1964 – Karl Demzien, superintendent of the Civic Auditorium, and his wife Regina can judge the time of the day by the sounds of activity on the main floor of the city’s recreation center.
March 1, 1989 – LaPorte loses to Michigan City Rogers, 89-60, in the boys sectional basketball tournament.
March 1, 2004 – Michigan City may remove the name of the former harbormaster, a convicted child molester, from four plaques.
