Barbara “Mrs. Hat” L. (Weiss) Jackson, 71, of Michigan City, IN, died peacefully at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, in her home.
She was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Michigan City to Harold M. and Dorothy (Bundesman) Weiss.
Barbara was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her home and family. She enjoyed computer games, Thomas Kincaid jigsaw puzzles, Club Pogo, Westerns and gardening. Barbara was a kind and generous person. She loved helping others.
On Sept. 9, 1963, in Michigan City, she married the love of her life, Jerone Jackson, who survives.
Also surviving are her son, Brian Jackson of Michigan City; five brothers, Raymond (Sue) Weiss of Kingsford Heights, IN, Robert (Judy) Weiss of Three Oaks, MI, Norman (Cindy Bridgewater) Weiss of Mishawaka, IN, David (Donna) Weiss of Michigan City and Martin (Ida) Weiss of Kingsford Heights; two sisters, Carol (Ronald) Miller of Donna, TX, and Henrietta Uzun of Ocala, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Harold “Sonny” M. Weiss Jr.
There will be no services. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, is handling arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, at a later date.
