March 20, 1914 – Representatives of the city, the Rumely Company, and the North Side Improvement Association meet to discuss opening Madison Street to the north side.

March 20, 1964 – A defense attorney for Jack Ruby asks for a new trial because of 182 legal errors.

March 20, 1989 – There was an early-morning explosion, apparently caused by a bomb, at the LaPorte Cinema.

March 20, 2004 – The Census Bureau says the nation’s Asian and Hispanic populations will rise to half of America’s population by 2050.
