March 21, 1914 – The Rumely Company, based in LaPorte, will resume building engines and separators at the Richmond, Indiana, plant.

March 21, 1964 – Two Cuban air force pilots commandeer a Russian-made helicopter, shoot its pilot dead, and fly to the United States.

March 21, 1989 – Dick Clark, perennial host of “American Bandstand,” steps aside as the program switches to cable.

March 21, 2004 – Evan Epley will take the stand in LaPorte Circuit Court in an effort to prove he killed his brother in self-defense.
