March 27, 1914 – Clinton Cochrane of LaPorte is on his way to Canada to identify a woman under surveillance as Mrs. Belle Gunness.

March 27, 1964 – Alabama Gov. George C. Wallace appears likely to be denied the right to run in Indiana’s Democratic presidential primary.

March 27, 1989 — LaPorte taverns were a sea of red as Dyngus Day participants partook in red beer and good ethnic food.

March 27, 2004 – Bob Zimmermann and others are forming the Association of LaPorte Area Artists.
