Vivian “Paulette” Manns, 69, of LaPorte, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She born in Valparaiso, IN, on Feb. 5, 1944, to Geordia Jr. and Vivian (Wise) Johnson.
Paulette attended Chesterton High School from 1960-63 and graduated from LaPorte High School in 1964. She graduated from Commonwealth Business College in 1991. Paulette was a member of First United Methodist Church in LaPorte and worked for Mary Kay for many years.
On Aug. 27, 1988, she married Adam J. Manns, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mike Maynard and Kim Maynard-Fox, both of LaPorte; four stepchildren, Melissa Keating of Joliet, IL, Tony (Julie) Manns and Mark Manns, both of Knox, IN, and Jennifer (Tom) Tautiris of Goshen, IN; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Daniels of Michigan City, IN, and Susan Sowers of Florida; two brothers, Geordia Johnson III of North Carolina and Terry Johnson Sr. of LaPorte; six stepbrothers, John, Paul, Sam, Bob, George, and Tom; seven stepsisters, Janet, Helen, Betty, Kathy, Mary, Debbie, and Sandy; two half brothers, Jim and Geordia IV; and three half sisters, Carrie, Peggy and Jody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Geneva Merry; and a stepbrother, Charles.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, on Wednesday May 15, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday, May 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
