The LaPorte County Public Library will hold community meetings at its main location and at various branches. The purpose is to get public input “toward the library’s emerging direction and to help the library remain relevant, responsive and reflective of the communities’ needs,” according to a library press release.
“Meetings have been held by the library’s Master Planning Committee to interview contractors to become project manager for building improvements,” the library press release stated. “The upcoming meetings are to address the needs of each branch of the LaPorte County Public Library with input from the community.”
The schedule is as follows:
– Thursday, April 3, 4 p.m., at Union Mills branch, to gather input on the Union Mills, Fish Lake and Kingsford Heights branches
– Thursday, April 17, 4 p.m., at Rolling Prairie Community Association Building
– Thursday, May 1, 9:30 a.m., at Coolspring branch
– Thursday, May 15, 4 p.m., at Hanna Methodist Church Fellowship Hall
– Thursday, May 29, 4 p.m., at main library
– Thursday, June 12, 9:30 a.m., at main library
Besides the main library in LaPorte, branches are located in Coolspring Township, Rolling Prairie, Fish Lake, Kingsford Heights, Hanna and Union Mills. The La Porte County Public Library also has a mobile library that travels throughout LaPorte County.
