April 2, 1914 – The heart of St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States and most beautiful city in Florida, is wiped out by fire.
April 2, 1964 – Few itinerant vendors working in LaPorte follow ordinances requiring peddler licenses.
April 2, 1989 – The death toll in the collapse of the Hatchie River bridge in Tennessee stands at seven today.
April 2, 2004 – The LaPorte branch of First National Bank of Valparaiso, located at 2044 W. Ind. 2, is robbed. No one is hurt.
