The Greater LaPorte Ministerial Association will lead its annual Cross Walk on Good Friday, April 18, starting at noon.
This somber event to commemorate Jesus’ death will start at Bethany Lutheran Church and then stop at six other downtown locations. At each stop, a short message will be delivered based on the last words of Jesus from the cross.
All are welcome to join in this free event.

– First Word: “Father, Forgive Them” — Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G St.
– Second Word: “Today, You Shall be With Me in Paradise” — St Mary’s of the Angels, 811 Monroe St.
– Third Word: “Behold, thy Mother” — LaPorte New Church, 812 Indiana Ave.
– Fourth Word: “My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?” — steps of LaPorte City Hall
– Fifth Word: “I Thirst” — First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Ave.
– Sixth Word: “It is Finished” — St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Michigan Avenue and Harrison Street
– Seventh Word: “Into thy Hands I Commit my Spirit” — IU Health LaPorte Hospital Chapel
