A 22-year-old Rolling Prairie man was arrested and charged with dealing heroin after police stopped the car he was driving on a traffic violation Monday, May 12, 2014.
Justin R. Jarrett is charged with dealing heroin, a Class A felony.
Officers from LaPorte Police and LaPorte County Metro Operations stopped the silver Grand Prix Jarrett was driving in the 1300 block of Pine Lake Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Police dog Rambo alerted officers to the presence of drugs, who found heroin in Jarrett’s possession. Drug paraphernalia was also found in the car.
Also arrested were the car’s other occupants: Brett D. Curry, 18, of LaPorte (the car’s owner), for maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony; and Jillian A. Townsel, 22, of LaPorte, on
an outstanding warrant for revocation of a suspended sentence for theft, a Class D felony.
