Daniel G. Shoffner, 47, of LaPorte, who is charged with murdering an elderly woman at a home in the 100 block of McClung Road on June 15, 2014, has been arrested at least 17 times in the past, according to various criminal profile websites.
The woman’s name had not yet been publicly released as of midday June 16. LaPorte Police said they were called to the house at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
An online check by WNLP revealed at least 17 prior arrests on Shoffner’s record dating back to 1994. Charges included: battery, invasion of privacy, robbery, disorderly conduct, operating while intoxicated, theft, and revocation of suspended sentence.
Shoffner, who reportedly was a tenant at the same McClung Road address, was being held at LaPorte County Jail without bond.
