Jeremy Alan Wier, 39, of Westville, IN, and formerly of Chesterton, IN, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, IL.
He was born May 3, 1975, in Berrien Springs, MI, to Rex and Jean (Harman) Wier.
Jeremy was a 1994 Portage High School graduate. He was passionate about his plumbing career and was proud to have received his plumbing license two years ago. Jeremy enjoyed family, friends, NASCAR, motorcycles, Ford vehicles, the Chicago White Sox, bonfires, woodworking, carpentry, the outdoors, and working on vehicles. He liked to stay busy and always helped others. Jeremy will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
On Jan. 31, 2003, in LaPorte, he married, Karry Ann (Trowbridge) Wier, who survives.
Also surviving are his father, Rex (Gwen) Wier of Jacksonville, FL; three children, Madison Wier of Westville, Ryan Scherer of Portage, IN, and Abigail Scherer of Westville; one sister, Abagael (Andrew) Ann D’Angelo of Grand Blanc, MI; one brother, Justin Victor Wier of Bushnell, FL; special friends, Chuck Musgrave “Brother,” Annie Bildhauser “Sister,” and Steve (Heather) Nelson; and many other special friends.
His mother preceded him in death.
A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery.
