Shania Povlock
Talented young vocalist Shania Povlock will perform at the First Friday in the Chapel concert at noon Aug. 1 in the IU Health LaPorte Hospital Family Chapel, with Judy Wright accompanying her on piano. The public is invited to attend this free event.
Shania will be a freshman this year at LaPorte High School. She was a youth runner-up and Rising Star award winner at the 2013 Hoosier Star singing competition, and won first place at Mint Idol in June. The past two years, she placed gold at Indiana State School Music Association as a soloist.
Shania has been performing the national anthem at the University of Notre Dame at various sporting events and will be singing the national anthem for the South Bend Silver Hawks on Aug. 26. She has performed for the hospital’s long-term care unit, in the lobby at Christmas time and at the Tour De LaPorte event for cancer care. She is a volunteer at the hospital.
She is the daughter of Amy and Mark Povlock and has a younger brother, Luke.
