It’s not often that two bands from two adjoining communities, representing 281 years of history, combine to bring music to appreciative listeners.
Add an idyllic lakefront setting and pleasant late-summer weather — and free admission — and you get an idea of the scene in LaPorte’s Fox Park on Wednesday evening, July 30, 2014, as the LaPorte City Band and the Michigan City Municipal Band graced the Arts in the Park stage.
Two hundred and eighty-one years of community members providing music to community members for sheer enjoyment and the enhancement of local culture and enrichment. If you’re one to count your blessings, count this among them.
