New Carlisle resident Laura Bladecki took these photos of downtown New Carlisle on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, as the town prepared for the memorial ceremony of its assistant fire chief, Jamie Middlebrook.
Hundreds lined the streets to watch the stirring ceremonies and march to the cemetery as Middlebrook, who lost his life in a barn fire last week, was laid to rest. Many, like Bladecki, contributed their work and talents to the ceremony to make it all the more meaningful.
