The City of LaPorte Park and Recreation Department will provide lifeguards this Memorial Day weekend at Stone Lake Beach, staffing the swimming area near the beach house from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Lifeguards will begin their regular summer hours on Monday, June 3, following the Maple City Grand Prix boat race. The beach will be staffed daily from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. through Sunday, Aug. 18.
Lifeguards will be present to provide supervision, enforce beach rules and react to all emergency situations.
The concession stand at the beach house will be open during the same hours, selling items such as hot dogs, candy and soft drinks for beach patrons.
