Life began for Edith on Feb. 28, 1928, in LaPorte County to Flavious and Olive (Louderback) Gourley. She lived her entire life in the LaPorte area.
Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and going to sporting events for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden, spending winters in Florida, and going to the concerts in the park. Her favorite pastime was going to Goodwill and garage sales with her daughters and good friends.
Edith worked for 30 years at American Rubber, where she made many good friends.
After several months of being ill, on May 23, 2013, God called Edith home to rest. She joins her parents; husbands, Charles W. Orsborn Sr. and Emil Gorski; sons, Charles W. Orsborn Jr. and Jack Orsborn; grandchild, Jason Orsborn; brothers, Floyd, Clifford, Kenneth and Arlo Gourley; and sisters, Roberta Rosentreter and Betty Clifford, in eternal life.
Edith leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband, Russell Kirsch Sr.; children, Sherry (Don) Burger, Pamela Reed, Laura Pearson and Marvin (Shirlene) Orsborn; stepchildren, Russell (Becky) Kirsch Jr. and Kris (Keith) Ferguson; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, Natalee; five step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Monday, May 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. A life celebration will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gene Flickinger officiating. Cremation will take place.
