Volunteer training for Reins of Life to be held June 5

reinsReins of Life Inc. will hold a volunteer orientation session on Wednesday, June 5, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at its Michigan City facility, 9375 W 300 North, Michigan City.

Reins of Life provides therapeutic horseback riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities, serving over 500 riders through its two facilities in Michigan City and South Bend. Its mission: To improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapy.

The organization is looking for volunteers to help assist its riders during riding lessons. Pre-registration for the volunteer session is mandatory and volunteers must be at least 13 years old. No previous horse experience is required.

Reins of Life Inc. has been serving the area since 1978 and has been accredited by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship since its inception.
