The Fine Arts Board of the Presbyterian Church of LaPorte will host its final program of the season on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m.,
featuring duo pianists Edgar Swarthout and Andrew Remillard. The church is located at 307 Kingsbury Ave.
Swarthout and Remillard met in 2003, when Remillard’s piano shop rebuilt Swarthout’s
piano. The two learned they both harbored a long-dormant interest in playing two-piano music. Their first recital took place in 2006. Since then, they have performed at various locations in Chicago’s suburbs.
Remillard received his bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Wheaton College and a master’s degree in piano performance from DePaul University. Swarthout holds bachelor’s degrees in piano performance and composition and a master’s degree in music theory, all from the American Conservatory.
Child care will be provided; a freewill offering will be collected and a meet-the-artists reception will be held after the concert.
The church is handicapped accessible. For more information, call 219-362-6219 and visit www.LaPortePresbyterianFineArts.org.
