The LaPorte Fire Department will host its annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 809 W. 18th St. Fun for the whole family will include station tours, an extrication demonstration, EDITH house programs, a LaPorte County EMS ambulance on display, and a complimentary lunch.

And the department is excited to announce the return of the Lindsey O’Brien Kesling Wishing Tree Foundation. Part of the foundation’s outreach is to increase awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide, an odorless and tasteless poisonous gas. Visit the LOK/CO Awareness table at the open house for information on how to safeguard your family and home from carbon monoxide and to obtain a free First Alert carbon monoxide detector while supplies last.

The fire department’s popular Breast Cancer Awareness shirts (pink or black) will be available for $15 at the open house.

The entire community is invited to visit, meet the firefighters and learn more about the LOK/CO Foundation.

On Facebook, like “LaPorte Fire Fighters Local 363” and like the LOK/CO Foundation at “LOK wishing tree.”
