On Monday, Oct. 13, the LaPorte County Patriots organization will host a debate between the candidates running for LaPorte County
sheriff: Republican John Boyd, Democrat Al Ott and Libertarian Steve Osborn. All three candidates have
confirmed participation. Local radio personality Ron Miller will moderate the event, which will be held at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium at 5 p.m.
Lou Carlassara, LaPorte County Patriots organizer, said, “The sheriff’s seat is one of the most powerful positions in the county and this is the tightest race of the year. The citizens need to find out what the candidates stand for so they aren’t filling the position blindly.”
Candidates will each give an introduction to the audience, then they will be presented with questions and each will have an opportunity to answer and then respond to one another. Toward the end of the evening, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions.
This is the second debate in LaPorte County hosted by the Patriots. Those who have questions about the event, would like flyers to distribute or would like to volunteer are asked to email LaPortePatriots@gmail.com.
