Who hasn’t wondered what it’s like to ride along in a police squad car? Get your “virtual” chance this Friday, Oct. 24, from 2:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. as the LaPorte Police Department hosts its 2nd annual Virtual Ride Along.
Just log on to the “La Porte (IN) Police Department” Facebook page to follow the activities of Officer Matt Drangmeister and his K9 partner, Rambo. Between police calls, Drangmeister and an accompanying officer will answer any questions you may have related to the K9 program, the calls they respond to, or the police department in general.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity to the citizens of LaPorte and hope that everyone will take advantage,” a city police press release stated. “This Virtual Ride Along gives everyone a chance to see what really goes on and what officers face during a shift patrolling the streets of LaPorte. Remember that this is an online event and all activities will take place on our Facebook page. Please share this with anyone you think may be interested.”
