April 25, 1913 – The Art Manufacturing Company promises to put LaPorte on the world’s map in the making of pneumatic carpet sweepers.
April 25, 1963 – There was a 31-car pileup on the Pennsylvania railroad as the result of a train derailment this morning a mile and a half east of Hamlet.
April 25, 1988 – Warner Books wins the rights to publish a sequel to “Gone With the Wind” as a yet-untitled novel to be written by Alexandra Ripley.
April 25, 2003 – The sheriff breathes a half-sigh of relief after the last of the 180 LaPorte County Jail inmates are transported to the new jail addition.
