The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 57-year-old man found in his Michigan City apartment on Monday morning, Jan. 19, 2015.
Deputies were called to an apartment to conduct a welfare check at Woodland Crossing apartments (near Woodland Avenue and U.S. 20) shortly after 9 a.m., according to a sheriff’s office press release. Neighbors had contacted authorities after the man had not been seen for more than a day.
Evidence of foul play was not found, authorities from the sheriff’s office and LaPorte County Coroner’s Office reported. But the investigation continues. The man’s name had not been released as of Monday night.
