Jan. 27, 1915 — Women are zealous for the ballot. Indiana suffrage advocates will ask for the right of voting along the lines adopted in the sister state of Illinois.

Jan. 27, 1965 — The three-day viewing period of Sir Winston Churchill’s catafalque in Westminster Hall has begun.

Jan. 27, 1990 — A federal judge declares that the no-begging rule in subways is unconstitutional because the First Amendment applies to panhandling as much as any other form of speech.
