Robert Lee “Porky” Wilson, 69, of LaPorte, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born Oct. 28, 1945, in LaPorte to Alfred Lee and Merriam (Crosby) Wilson.
Robert graduated from Stillwell High School and lived in LaPorte his entire life. He retired from Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor. He was a U.S. Army veteran and loved fishing, traveling, his job and neighbors. Robert always had time for anyone, especially the younger generation.
Surviving are his son, Keith (Fiona) Wilson of Malaysia; Keith’s mother, Sharon Dolan; sister, Connie (Warren) Wollert of LaPorte; brother, Roy Wilson of Kingsford Heights, IN; two grandsons, Christopher Wilson and Chance Destine Lee Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.
