Happiness is two kinds of ice cream, sharing a secret, or … reliving the fun and innocence of childhood with Charlie Brown and Snoopy! The LaPorte High School Show Choir invites you to enjoy the nostalgia of Charles Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip as they present the Broadway musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” in two public performances.
The show will be presented Friday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. in the LaPorte High School Auditorium. This marks the first musical theater production by the LPHS Music Department in over 15 years. It is the full show — singing, dancing, acting, a live instrumental combo, and all the great comic strip humor of Charles Schulz, brought to life on stage by all of your favorite Peanuts characters! It’s an event for the whole family!
The cast includes show choir members Alec Mace as Charlie Brown, Taylor Jump as Lucy, Luke Dabbert as Linus, Tommy Cornett as Schroeder, Grace Hooley as Patty, and Angel Hodge as Snoopy. Other cast members include Brooke Baima, Lexie Cardello, Vanessa Evans, Brianna Hill, Jacob Lemaitre, and Cynthia Tapia. The production is directed by LPHS Choral Director Thomas Coe. The instrumental combo includes LPHS choral piano accompanist Jane DeVries, retired Boston Middle School choir director Jeanette Quinn, Chris Bendix and Rob Hassing.
Tickets are $5 (general admission) and $3 for children 12 and under. They may be purchased at the door starting 30 minutes prior to each performance or in advance from any cast member or at the school store during school hours. Call 362-3102 ext. 2005 for more information.
