Sinai Temple of Michigan City has slated its second annual Open Mic Nite for Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m.
Citing the success of last year’s dinner and entertainment event, organizer Don Glossinger says, “We want to bring a wide variety of amazing talent back for a family-friendly evening which will feature singers, instrumental performers, poetry and spoken word, storytellers, comedians and more. The display of artistry was amazing, from a young teenager who accompanied herself on acoustic guitar, to the blues-inspired group of local residents and Chicagoans led by professional Bluesman and co-host Keith Scott, to the spellbinding reciting of original poetry and the singular humor of an octogenarian, among others.”
Preceding the performances will be the popular Sinai Temple Supper Club fare — a brisket dinner featuring Sinai Temple Sisterhood’s noodle kugel, a feature of the temple’s storied Deli Days.
The public is welcome to attend and perform. The deadline for reservations is March 15. To perform in the evening’s lineup, contact Caryn Glossinger at 219-879-2505 or caryn43@comcast.net. The cost for the evening, which includes dinner, is $15 per person. Call Glossinger to make reservations.
Sinai Temple is located at 2800 Franklin St., Michigan City. Ample parking is available and the temple is handicapped accessible.
