After a hiatus, WNLP is re-introducing our popular feature, Great Shots, featuring photos submitted by YOU, our readers.
Great Shots previously appeared in a set spot on this main page. But after moving it to a different spot, we received complaints that the feature was less noticeable and difficult to navigate.
We heard you. So now, WNLP will present Great Shots from time to time as a front-page post. Each batch will also remain indefinitely under our Community/Photos categories.
You will notice that this particular batch covers just about every season. Why? Well, did you ever download some items into a file and then store it in a “safe” place — so safe you forget about it? We hope so. Because that’s what happened here.
So enjoy these shots from some of our readers — spring, summer, fall, winter — with our apologies for the delay.
What do we ask from YOU? More Great Shots! Send your photos of events, pets, outdoor scenes and more as .jpg attachments to wnlp@whatsnewlaporte.com. Be sure to include name of photographer and a little about the photo(s). We would also be happy to receive historic photos of this area if you can scan them in and send us a copy. As soon as we receive several more photos, we will post a new batch — much sooner next time.

This iconic trio of cypress trees at Clear Lake appear to stand sentry over the little pump house in this picture taken by Wally Brath.

You’ve heard of an “odd duck?” This one fits the bill as it roosts on a fence in a photo taken by Jacqueline Kogut.

During Fair Week, the wide back of a draft horse can make a fine couch, as illustrated in this shot by Laura Bladecki.
