Maggie Campbell, 82, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 4:35 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, in her home.
She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Jackson, KY, to Cornelius and Charity Neace.
Maggie had worked as a cook for the railroad and for American Home Foods in LaPorte. She loved walking, cooking, music, Western movies, and crafts. Maggie always dreamed of returning to her home in Kentucky.
On Feb. 7, 1955, in Jackson, KY, she married the love of her life, Aaron Campbell, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are one son, Ronald (Judy) Campbell of LaPorte; one brother, Issac (Lizzie) Neace of Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Gregory and Alicia Campbell, Stephanie Chenny, Daina Patterson, Michelle Mirasgeldi, Echo Patterson, and Shea Campbell; and three great-grandchildren, Gregory Aaron, Audrey Jean and Curtis V. Campbell.
A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, with Pastor Jesse Moore officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, at a later date.
