On May 5, you have a choice. There are three candidates for LaPorte City Council At Large on the Republican side, but only two will move on to the General Election. I honestly believe I am the most experienced and qualified of the candidates, and ask for your support.
I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from DePaul University in Chicago, and have an extensive background in business, finance, financial management, auditing, and entrepreneurship. Starting at age 16, I ran a small business for 20 years. Out of college, I worked as a financial institution examiner for the federal government. Working primarily as an investor in the stock market the last 20 years, I read and analyze financial statements for a living, which is a critical skill in managing the annual city budget.
Having previously served on the council from 2004-2007, I have a history for standing up for what I believe is right, and a rigorous analytical mindset and attention to detail. These skills help provide the essential “checks and balances” function between a mayor and council. At the same time, I know how to work cooperatively with others.
I love our city and love its people, and would be grateful for another chance to serve you for another four years. On May 5, please vote Timothy Stabosz for LaPorte City Council At Large.
