
VARSITY BASEBALL: Lake Central Fails to score on the Slicers in the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded.

The Slicer JV baseball team saw its record fall to 12-3 at the hands of a talented Lake Central team at Lake Central Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Slicers made 4 errors in the game and could only manage 4 hits in the loss.
In other baseball and softball action at Lake Central, the Slicers varsity squad defeated Lake Central, 5-4, and the girls varsity and JV softball teams were defeated, 5-0 and 7-4, respectively.
In JV baseball action, Starting pitcher Chandler Banic was tagged with the loss. He allowed 4 runs on only 4 hits while striking out 4 and walking 2 in 3 innings of work. Mark Haines and Noah Mathias pitched in relief. Peyton Riehle had 2 hits, while Andy Samuelson and Banic each collected a hit and an RBI.
The JV Slicers’ DAC record fell to 4-2 with the loss.
The JV team’s next game is April 30 at home at Clarke Park against Crown Point. Game time is 4:30.
