Matthew Bartels
LaPorte High School Principal Ben Tonagel is proud to announce the names of the valedictorian and salutatorian from the Class of 2015.
Valedictorian Matthew Bartels is the son of Steve and Judy Bartels. Matthew plans to attend Harvard College to major in Applied Mathematics in Government with minors in Economics and Global Health and Health Policy.
Joseph Tomal
Salutatorian Joseph Tomal is the son of Anthony Tomal and Lyn De Groote. Joseph plans to attend Purdue University West Lafayette to major in Aerospace Engineering and minor in Mathematics.
Candidates for valedictorian/salutatorian must meet Academic Honors requirements. Qualification points are awarded for honors courses, dual-credit courses, AP courses, and total credits earned. There were 18 finalists for honor graduates for the LPHS Class of 2015. Each student maintained a 4.0 GPA and is ranked #1 in the Class of 2015.
