June 6, 1915 — A man convicted of stealing brass railing from the New York Central passenger coaches was sentenced to 90 days on the state penal farm.

June 6, 1965 — Bernell H. Marks, 34, was fatally injured in a hay baler on a farm near Hanna.

June 6, 1990 — LaPorte native Edwin Simcox will chair the Indiana Republican State Convention.

June 6, 2005 — Mark O’Dell made three bat houses at Luhr County Park as part of his Eagle Scout project. He also made two houses for purple martins.
