Robert “Bob” Dale Harris, 62, of Fish Lake, IN, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at his home.
He was born June 21, 1953, in Sacramento, CA, to Norman and Barbara (Metzger) Harris.
Bob was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He served as a volunteer fireman for Kingsford Union Fire Department. Bob had a passion for firearms, NRA, fishing, boating, and vacationing in Florida. He was a lover of animals and many would say he was a dog whisperer. Bob had retired from Roll Coater (Precoat) in Kingsbury, IN.
On May 3, 1980, in LaPorte, he married Debbie Clanton, who survives.
Also surviving are his beloved children, Chase (Dawn) Robowski of LaPorte, Felissa (David Ashcraft) Craft of Mill Creek, IN; six grandchildren, Nick Foster, Payten Craft, BrookeLynn and Rylie Robowski, and Austin and Luke Ashcraft; sister, Lori Croy of Granger, IN; and his dogs, Rusty and Coco.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mariann Harris.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at First Church of God, LaPorte, with Pastor Jeff Zigler officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service. A fellowship meal will be held following the service. A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte.
