Six children were found in a Kingsford Heights house where a methamphetamine lab was discovered June 26, 2015, and six adults are under investigation.
At 4:48 a.m., the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding people cooking meth at a house in the 300 block of Evanston Road. Deputies and investigators from the LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit secured the house and a search warrant was obtained from Superior Court 3.
Six children were found in the house. With the assistance of the Indiana Department of Child Services, the children have been examined at IU Health LaPorte Hospital’s Emergency Department and all of the children were OK.
Six adults have been detained for questioning, the sheriff’s office reports.
Besides Metro Operations, sheriff’s deputies and DCS, others responding and assisting are LaPorte County EMS, Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team, Kingsford Heights Marshal’s Office, and Kingsford Union Fire Department.
