Richard G. Hagler, 66, of Hamlet, IN, died at his home Monday, July 6, 2015.
He was born Feb. 3, 1949, in Hammond, IN, to Marie (Jennings) and Charles Hagler.
Richard retired from RWR Tech Services. He was a decorated veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, Infantry, 1st Air Cavalry, during the Vietnam War.
Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terri L. Hagler; two sons, Robert (Jessica) Hagler of Hamlet and Steve (Danielle) Hagler of LaPorte; one daughter, Julie Carpenter of South Bend, IN; his mother, Marie Hagler of Munster, IN; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Kylee, Allison, Andrew, Kayla, Tara, and Blake; one sister, Kitty Hagler; and one brother, Charles Hagler.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hagler.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Essling Funeral Home-Frank L. Keszei, funeral director, LaPorte. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
