Women in Leadership will present “Social Media/Engaging Your Business,” presented by John C. Marx, owner of JM2 Webdesigners, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College, Michigan City campus.
This is an in-depth, hands-on integration into social media. John will instruct participants with the following procedures:
— Establish your LinkedIn profile.
— Create your online business presence via Facebook.
— Effectively present yourself via social media, including sharing, tagging, posts, locations, comments, and hashtags.
— Become an informed and secure online user.
Bring your charged laptop, tablet or smartphone along with your downloaded images and documents necessary to create your profile (resume, etc.).
At the conclusion of the seminar, Mr. Marx will be on hand to answer additional questions.
The cost is $40 for Women in Leadership members and $50 for non-members. ($400 value; limited seating.) Check-in is at 7:45 a.m.
All proceeds from this summer technical seminar will support the Women in Leadership LaPorte County Scholarship Fund for graduating high school senior girls. Professional webmaster John Marx is generously contributing his time and expertise, and Ivy Tech is donating the location.
Light refreshments will be available, including coffee, water and fresh fruit compliments of Ludwig’s Fish & Produce and the LaPorte Savings Bank.
