David Allen Emmons Sr., 55, of LaPorte, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Porter Regional Hospital, Valparaiso, IN.
He was born June 2, 1960, in Ladysmith, WI, to Joseph and Barbara (Moen) Emmons.
David worked as a locomotive engineer. He loved to hunt, fish, work in his garden, coach softball, and play with his grandkids. He also loved watching his beloved Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs.
On May 2, 1981, he married Kerry (McDonald) Emmons, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Barbara Emmons of Wisconsin; his beloved children, David Emmons of Mill Creek, IN, and Jared (Taylor) Emmons of LaPorte; grandchildren, Liam Emmons, Carter Emmons and Zoey Emmons; siblings, Joseph Emmons Jr. of Indiana, Janice Emmons of Eau Claire, WI, and Lori (Kenny) Tassone of Hebron, IL; and many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Emmons; and goddaughter, Meagan Tassone.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Pastor Nate Loucks officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
