Dec. 20, 1916 — The Rev. Axel N. Nelson is the new minister called by the local Swedish Lutheran Church to succeed the late Rev. August Johnson, who died last summer. Rev. Nelson is about 31 years of age.
Dec. 20, 1966 — There are 1,370 more people working in 33 local manufacturing and business firms than at the start of 1966.
Dec. 20, 1991 — It has been 10 weeks since New York Governor Mario Cuomo told contributors he’d consider running for president, and today is the last day to register for the New Hampshire primary.
