Inez “Lee” Conrad, 82, of LaPorte, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at St. Anthony Hospital, Michigan City, IN, after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 22, 1931, in Osceola, Arkansas, to William and Samie Lee (Bynum) Lesley, and had lived in the LaPorte area for 60 years, coming from Arkansas.
Mrs. Conrad retired from the Social Security Administration office in Michigan City after serving as a claims representative for over 30 years. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her husband and maintaining their woods and home. She enjoyed baking and doing for others. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling after their retirement.
On Feb. 1, 1958, in Michigan City, she married William O. Conrad, who preceded her in death March 31, 2012.
She leaves behind one brother, Ronney Lee Lesley of Punta Gorda, FL. She will be greatly missed by the Nowak family, the Dolezal family and her special friend, Mattie Turner, and all who knew her.

A chapel service will be held at noon Monday, July 8, at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, Michigan City, with Chaplain Barbara Wisthoff officiating. There will be no visitation. Essling Funeral Home, LaPorte, is handling arrangements.
