Aug. 6, 1913 – Tomorrow will be a holiday in LaPorte. The business men’s picnic on the Interlaken grounds promises to be a successful event from every viewpoint.

Aug. 6, 1963 – The Clinton-Hanna-Noble School Board wants a new South Central High School-Junior High in spite of the anticipated loss of state money next year.

Aug. 6, 1988 – An Amtrak train gets in a wreck, injuring more than 150 people, as it hurtles through northeastern Montana.

Aug. 6, 2003 – LaPorte County Commissioner Bill Hager proposes that the county fair be run by a county department rather than by an independent fair board.
