Jeffrey S. DeCamp, 42, of LaPorte, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born Oct. 7, 1970, in LaPorte to Richard and Barbara (Dawson) DeCamp.
Jeff attended Bethany Lutheran Church in LaPorte. He loved and played all sports and was on the 1987 LaPorte High School baseball team that won the Indiana State Championship. He worked for several years as a sales representative for Gordon Food Service and loved his job. Jeff loved spending time with his sons, Justin and Dane. He was an avid sports fan and followed the Cubs and the Yankees, and would absolutely not miss a Notre Dame football game.
Surviving are his parents; his two sons, Justin and Dane DeCamp; sister, Jennifer (Patrick) Drewry of Indianapolis; two nephews, Benjamin Drewry and Samuel Drewry; one niece, Violet Drewry; and grandmother, Lois (Nana) Dawson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Mary DeCamp and Forrest Dawson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, with Pastor Carl Galloway officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from noon until the service. Burial will be in Kingsbury Cemetery following the service.
