A special concert featuring LaPorte’s own Chuck Steck and the North American Brass Company on Friday, Aug. 30, will benefit a very special cause: the community’s Heroin Awareness Project.
Those attending the concert, to begin at 7 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, corner of 1st and G streets in LaPorte, will be asked for a freewill donation toward battling the problem of heroin abuse in the community.
Steck is a music instructor at LaPorte High School as well as Valparaiso University, leads the LaPorte City Band, and performs with the Tom Milo Big Band, LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra and Elkhart County Symphony.
At the Aug. 30 concert, Steck and the North American Brass Quartet will offer jazz, classical, movie and stage favorites!
The North American Brass Company is a classically trained quintet comprised of members from throughout the Michiana area. The group has performed at Andrews University, Valparaiso University, Trine University, Ave Maria School of Law, The Unity Foundation, CASA, and The Old Rugged Cross Church, to name a few.
Attend this special evening of music to strengthen the LaPorte community’s efforts to keep our young people strong and healthy.
