Taste of LaPorte, Blues Fest return Aug. 17

Get ready to taste culinary delights unique to your hometown at the 2nd annual Taste of LaPorte, to be held Saturday, Aug. 17, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Chamber Square in front of the historic LaPorte Depot.

The event will offer tastes from a variety of local establishments as well as live entertainment, including a free shuttle from downtown to the LaPorte County Blues Festival in Fox Park.

There is no entry fee to Taste of LaPorte; the Blues Festival entry fee is $8.

Taste of LaPorte will feature savory bites from Albano’s Villa, Spire Restaurant, Seven, Cookery Tried & True, B&J’s American Cafe and more. Live entertainment includes the acoustic tunes of Kelly Skaggs and Pete Calacci from 3 to 6 pm, and lively blues and popular sounds by PT & The Cruisers until 9 pm. A small fireworks show, presented by Danny’s Fireworks, will end the evening downtown.

The free shuttle will take visitors to and from Fox Park for the LaPorte County Blues Festival, presented by SDY Promotions and LaPorte FOP Local 54. The festival will offer even more entertainment and fun at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in the park. Among performers will be Elwood Splinters Blues Band, Studebaker John, Andrew Junior Boy Jones, and the Little Frank Blues Imperials.
